yard
The portion of a lot not occupied by a building. Minimum yard requirements are included in most zoning ordinances.

yield
The interest earned or return by an investor on an investment, stated as a percentage of the amount invested.

yield to maturity
The annual return on an investment equal to the annual interest rate plus or minus the discounted gain or loss realized at time of maturity.
